He has arrived

Jason Tyler Antley arrived today after having put us on pins and needles for 8 weeks. The last 2 were taken up mostly by me trying everything I could think of to induce labor once I was out of the woods. After all, I didn't want to go to 41 weeks after having steroid injections. Can you say 10 pounder? I was trying to do what I could to ensure that wasn't happening! Just an FYI, none of it works so you might as well forego the stripping membranes, jumping jacks, stairs, spicy food, etc etc.

Solution? We begged the doc at 39 weeks to have mercy and he broke my water at 10:45 Thursday. Jason made his entrance a little less than 2 hours later at 12:42 without any help from inducing drugs. I got pain meds this time. It didn't help since my labor was ahead of the meds. I didn't beg for anyone to pull this time...but I may have said a few too many times "too big". I am thrilled to have him here and Jeff was both choked up and my rock, as always.

Here is his hospital pic and "online nursery" information. Click the image and you will get all the weight and particulars of his birth!

Here are the first pics of Mom, Dad and Ethan with their latest pride and joy.

According to our friends, Jeff looks the worse for wear. If you saw what I did to his hand during the delivery, you would agree. I personally love this photo of them.

Ethan is so in love with his little brother and was such a great helper today. He got to see Maw-maw and Paw-paw and spend a few hours at the hospital with us. He was too funny and wore our nurse's stethoscope all afternoon and played doctor listening to the sound of my legs. Do they even make noise? He was just devastated when they took his brother for his hearing test and if Jason cried, Ethan's lower lip got going as well.

Here is the first meeting.

And Aunt Susan came to visit tonight and Jeff got a great pic of her with Jason.

Elvis has entered the building

May has been a pretty busy month getting ready for our new arrival and ensuring Ethan knows how important it is to be a Big Brother. He is very excited and has been a big help getting the nursery together. Ethan is also about to celebrate his 2nd b-day and has moved to a new class at daycare. He is now in the two year old room with new teachers, Miss Jackie and Miss Nicole. He is going to miss his old friends and teachers. I don't know how to thank Mrs. Namita and Miss Melissa for everythng they have done for him and us and his first experience away from home. He has become such an indepenent boy thanks to their guidance and nurturing.

The pics are Ethan's Elvis impersonation using Daddy's sunglasses, nap time, and a lovely expression you can get on demand by asking Ethan simjply to say "cheese" to the camera. It ain't pretty.
